500 Words for Yeoreum

English

Jay-R, a Filipino aspiring photographer, becomes infatuated with Yeoreum, a Korean photographer in his photography club. After a disastrous first attempt to talk to her through a translation app, he throws himself into learning Korean one word at a time. His journey is full of awkward public mistakes, small victories, and a quietly growing connection. As Jay-R gets closer to finally expressing his feelings in his own words, he begins to realize that Yeoreum is carrying a private sadness of her own: her time in Canada is coming to an end. *500 Words for Yeoreum* is a tender romantic comedy about language, timing, and the ache of connecting with someone just as they are about to leave.
