Stranded
English
Yiling, a Chinese marine biologist living overseas, travels to Newfoundland, Canada, to study a repeatedly stranded humpback whale. She discovers that local fishermen have already dragged it back to sea several times. As scientific judgment clashes with the village’s lived knowledge of the ocean, the coastline awakens memories of her father and the coastal hometown in Southern China she has not returned to for years.
