KAIPPAKKA
English
After learning about his mother’s sudden death, Adi, a young immigrant in Canada, finds himself drawn to Kaippakka (bitter gourd) , a food he spent most of his life avoiding. As he cooks and eats it for the first time, fragments of memory begin resurfacing: childhood, arguments, love, and the quiet gestures he once took for granted. Kaippakka is an intimate story about grief, memory, and Adi reflecting on his relationship with his mother through Kaippakka, while exploring how loss can reinvent meaning.
