For the past five years, 70-year-old Suna has cared alone for her 80-year-old husband, Ihan, who has Parkinson’s disease, in their old hanok home. Suna and Ihan were once a couple who respected and loved each other. But years of caregiving and suffering have turned that love into resentment and guilt, and amid the loss of dignity, their relationship has fallen apart. One Christmas Eve, Suna flees the suffocating house and enters a Catholic confessional, where she confesses a shocking sin. The world calls this age of living to one hundred — an age that arrived before society was ready for it — a blessing. But for Suna and Ihan, is it truly a blessing, or a punishment?
